More love for Piglet's SS-4P.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I must confess I've fallen in love with flying this 'what if' aircraft and doodling with it, and I wanted to share some of the fun. :)

I call this small collection 'Through The Looking-Glass.'

Aircraft: FSX Sus Scrofa SS-4P.

Location: Flathead Lake, Polson Bay near King's Point, Montana.

What a fun little aircraft!! :)

Indeed! Thankya! :D

Beautiful!! Never seen it before, Is it rated for water landings?

Well, sure it is! :) The only caveat is you have to replace the prop and nadir-side aerials (and inspect the powerplant and reduction gearing for FOD / aquatic remnants) after each landing but those are just petty details. That, and it behooves one to write a letter of explanation to any landowners near your operational area so that people don't think you don't know what you're doing.

* * * * *

Currently I'm shooting an ILS approach and cursing a blue streak at the airport tower for a few reasons:

1. Cleared by tower to land followed by "Follow the aircraft on final." I'm passing over the outer marker at this point and looking for the traffic ahead of me.

2. Saw an Archer briefly on his downwind leg as I passed the middle marker.

3. Never saw an 'aircraft on final' ahead of me.

4. The dash-8 waiting to go was instructed to hold short for the Archer on final.

5. My aircraft does not look like an Archer.

6. Never heard any comms between the tower and the Archer.

7. Tower instructed a go-around at photo-point. The Archer (who apparently had the #1 slot reserved since 1972) by this point is just starting to breach the outer marker.

So:

I'm here.

The traffic I'm about to hit is here.
