paulfar
I occasionally use the FlightAware web site to create realistic flight plans and a program called Route Finder to input the plan into FS2004. Here's an example: KBOS-KDCA flight plan from FlightAware indicates the NELIE intersection during departure. Latitude and Longitude of the waypoint is indicated as: N 41.9410111 W 72.6885778. I need to convert these coordinates to the following format taken from Terminal Procedures (LOGAN FOUR DEPARTURE)., ie, N41* 55.68' W72* 42.37' to input these coordinates into Route Finder. Since these days RNAV approaches & departures are the most common, I need the formula for converting the new format for Lat/Long to the old format. I think I saw a post several months ago which set forth the conversion formula, but I can't find it. I hope the above info is clear. Thanks for any assistance, Paul

Jim Robinson
Just multiply the decimal * 60 and that becomes your minutes. Also can you just input your coords like this? N41.9410111* 0.00' W72.6885778* 0.00'
paulfar
Thanks for the input Jim. The Long/Lat conversion charts recommended by il88pp fit the bill exactly and I was able to successfully create several sample flight plans which were "spot on". One of these days I'm going to stamp "TRY GOOGLE" on my forehead, Paul
